This website, all its content, services and products (taken together, the Website) are owned and operated by The Rare Monkey and Patterns in the Jam and Joanne Gale. A sole trader based in the UK. Please read this Agreement carefully before accessing or using the Website. By accessing or using any part of the Website, you agree to become bound by this agreement. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the Website or its services.You will be asked to confirm you agree with these terms before placing an order.
From time to time these terms are amended. Please check this agreement regularly and before placing an order.
These terms are governed by English Law. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are resident of Northern Ireland or Scotland you may bring proceedings from there. Between us and other businesses, we agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes or claims.
The Rare Monkey Picture Books
Our The Rare Monkey picture books (The Rare Monkey with the Colourful bottom and The Rare Monkey Can’t, Couldn’t Can!) are children’s picture books. They both have 44 pages (the stories spread 40 of these pages) and are Paperback from, is A5 in dimension. 210mm height x 148mm wide.
Please note children must be supurpivsed at all times when using our books, bookmarks, Rare Monkey info slips and any other postage and packaging materials and or any other promotional material that we provide to you; our products are not toys. All postage and packaging must be disposed of and is not for child use.

Every effort is made to display our products accurately on our Website. We can not guarantee that your computer displays our colours correctly. Colours may vary slightly.
The Rare Monkey Ebook is available for customers worldwide. Please note Ebooks are non refundable and non returnable. Our Ebook file is in EPUB format. It is your responsibility to check this file is compatible with your reading device. Please see EBook below for more details.
The Rare Monkey Paperback is only available to ship to the UK. Customers from outside the UK may place an order, but the shipping address must be within the UK. Please note, orders made outside the UK using PayPal may be charge a conversion fee(s) by PayPal. Please see PayPal’s terms and conditions.
Customers interested in Paperback shipping outside of the UK please email email@example.com to discuss the possibility, with no guarantee. If shipping is possible, we may require you to cover the shipping costs. You will be responsible for any import duties and taxes. You are liable and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country we agree to send too. Paperbacks posted outside of the UK are non returnable and non refundable.
To place an order our website requires a customer’s names, billing address and the shipping address. Your information will never be sold to third parties and is used solely to process your order. Our website will hold customers information for a limited time only. If you paying using PayPal your name, shipping address and possibly billing address will be sent to PayPal. Please see their terms and conditions.
Please check your details are correct before confirming your order. Any mistakes and or amendments please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. An amendment may delay your order, please allow extra time for us to process.
Payment(s) can be made using a credit and or debit card through bank transfer (see Bank Transfer below) or PayPal (see PayPal below.).
Our website never asks, records and or holds debit and or credit card details.
Having placed an order you will receive a confirmation email sent to the email address you gave us. Please check these details. Your order will begin being processed. If paying by bank transfer you will receive an email informing you how to pay us. We can not dispatch your order until funds are in our account.
- EBook. When ordering the Ebook you will receive a second confirmation email and link to your download. This download is live for 3 weeks. One download per payment. You will receive a separate emailed receipt.
- Paperback. When ordering the Paperback, you will receive a second email when you order has been dispatched. You will receive a separate emailed receipt. Please see Delivery below.
If we can not supply a product or process your order, we will contact you through the email address you gave us. If our product is out of stock, you will be asked if you wish to be added to a waiting list and or refunded. If we can not provide the product at all, any payments will be refunded as quickly as possible. Refunds can only be made to the card used for your order.
Our website uses SSL.
By paying through bank transfer you save us PayPals commission fees. Thank you.
Once your have placed your order through our Website, a confirmation email, sent to the email address you provided will contain our bank account details. You must transfer the total amount for your order to our bank account for your order to be dispatched. Use your order Ref number provided in your confirmation email plus RareMonkey to identify your transfer. ie #456RAREMONKEY. Please ensure you identify your payment using your reference number and RareMonkey otherwise your order may be delayed.
Payments must have cleared in our account before your order can be dispatched.
You accept that the internet maybe an unsafe and insecure place. By making a transfer to us, you take responsibility that the transaction you make is safe and secure. If using your banks website, we take no responsibility for that website, its security and or authenticity and their terms.
When paying with PayPal you will be redirected to PayPal’s website. It is your responsibility to check their site is genuine and secure.
PayPal have their own terms of service which is available on their site. You agree to read and agree to their terms of service before making your payment. It is not necessary to set up an account with PayPal to place your order.
In accordance with PayPal’s terms, downloads are non refundable and returnable.
If PayPal holds a payment and or delays an order; we take no responsibility for this delay. Any issues must be addressed to PayPal. Please see their website for details.
Orders Off Line
If you wish to make an order, but do not wish to use our Website. Please contact email@example.com to discuss the possibility.
A receipt will be emailed to the email address you gave us. We do not provide paper receipts.
VAT is not charged on Paperback books. VAT is charged at 20% on EBooks in the UK and is included in the overall price. If UK laws change our product prices will be updated asap. If you have already paid and or are paying for your order when this change happens, you will not be charged the VAT increase.
EBook. Ebooks are made available to downloaded, in most cases within 0-24 hours after your order is placed. We can not give a specific time. If there is a problem with your payment process or your payment needs to clear, your download may be delayed. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if it has been 48 hours and your download is not yet available. Only one download per payment and you must download your order(s) within 3 weeks of receiving your download email.
Paperback. Postage and packaging is charged at £2.00 per book for Paperback orders to UK addresses only. All Paperback book are posted using second class through Royal Mail. Sometimes we will post orders second class recorded delivery depending on your order/at our discretion. You will not be charged extra for this. Your order should reach you within 2-7 working days.
If after 10 days your order has not arrived, please contact email@example.com with your order reference and your full name. Occasionally an order may be affected by Events Outside of our Control. Please see below for details. We take no responsibility for Royal Mails terms and service and any delay they may cause to your order.
EBooks are non refundable and non returnable.
One EBook download is available per payment.
The Rare Monkey EBook is available in EPUB format and is delivered in a zip file made available by accessing the link in the second email we sent you to the email address you provided. This link and download is live for 3 weeks only in which time you must download your EBook. You take full responsible to check that the file type will be compatible with your reading device before you place your order. We take no responsibility for your software and for how long the Ebooks will be compatible with your software and reading device. You agree to check your devices requirements before purchasing.
If you accidentally delete your EBook we can not provide a replacement.
You accept that your reading device and or software may change the layout, format and appearance of the EBook. Any major errors with your downloads appearance please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the options. We can not guarantee a replacement and or a refund.
You accept that the internet can be insecure. We take all reasonable and serious care to ensure our Website and download is safe and secure. You agree that any download is at your own risk and accept responsibility for any damages to your software, computer and or self.
For Paperback orders within the UK, you have a 14 day cooling off period, starting from the date your order was dispatched, to cancel your order and obtain a refund. Please email email@example.com to cancel. We will provide a return address. You agree to cover the cost of returning the book(s) using recorded delivery. The book must be returned in its original condition for a full refund. A part refund will be offered if the value of the goods has decreased due to handling them in a way that would not be permitted in a shop and or if you have not packaged them correctly. You agree this is at our sole discretion.
If you’re Paperback arrives faulty and or damaged you will need to return the book(s) to us. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for a return address and to agree on postage costs and methods. If the item(s) are not returned we can not provide a refund or replacement. When the item reaches us we will refund you your postage costs. This applies to UK orders only.
If you used PayPal, your refund maybe made through PayPal to the card you used. We take no responsibility for any delays PayPal may cause to your refund and any commission PayPal may take on this transaction. We will only refund you the amount due regardless of any commission PayPals may take.
Our Paperback books have a 1 months warranty commencing from their dispatch date.
This does not affect your Statutory rights or your rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 Act.
Customers will be asked if they wish for their email to be added to The Rare Monkeys mailing list. Your address will is never shared to third parties.
You can remove your address at any time by emailing email@example.com and writing DELETE ME in the subject line.
Our Website will collect the following; Strictly necessary cookies; which allow our Website to operate ie using the shopping cart, post a comment. Analytical and or performance cookies; count the number of visitors on our site and how they use our site. Targeting cookies; record your visit to our site, the pages you have visited, the links you have followed.
Except for essential cookies, all cookies will expire after some time.
At any time you can disable cookies in your browser and or delete all cookies currently stored on your computer. If all cookies are deleted certain areas of our Website may not work. No login information is required to use our site which means our site collects very limited cookies.

Event Outside Our Controls
We are not responsible for any delay or failure to fulfill our obligations under these Terms if the delay or failure is caused by an event beyond our reasonable control. These event include but are not limited to strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks, impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircrafts, motor transport or other means of public and or private transport.
This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
If such an event beyond our control happens we will contact you as soon as possible and keep you up to date with your orders progress. Please allow for any delays.
We are passionate about being a green conscious business.
The Rare Monkey is printed on FSC approved paper. Our book marks are printed on 50% recycled 50% FSC paper mix. Our printer and books and bookmarks are printed in the UK.
Our envelopes are made from FSC paper to the best of our knowledge and through research.
Paper used for paper work, designs and writing is either recycled and or reused.
We endeavor to recycle business paper, cardboard and waste which will be processed by the local council.
